About Ching

A fantasy league for friends, on the web and iPhone

Ching is a fantasy league where friends draft whole real-world teams, the Chiefs or the Lakers, instead of athletes. Each team earns points for its owner from real results, which Ching reads from ESPN.

How a league works

A league is private to its members, who join with its invite code, and it lasts one season. It is one of two kinds.

  • Stacks. The members draft the league’s teams into their stacks before the season, one owner to a team, then release and claim them until the first kickoff; after that, teams move only by one-for-one trades. An NFL league scores Stacked, each member setting their teams in order every week, the higher the slot the more a win scores; or, if its commissioner chooses so when creating it, Laid-back, benching one team a week and scoring every other win alike. Either way the members meet head to head each week. Every other sport scores wins its own way. The most points at the end of the season wins.
  • Bets. The members bet on real games, in the sports and between the dates the league picks, for Ching, the league’s points: every member starts with 1,000 and bets at least 50 a week. Ching is never money; it cannot be bought, cashed out or exchanged for anything. The most Ching at the end date wins.
